Welcome to the Brave New World: Our Response to living in a COVID world

At the beginning of the pandemic in 2020 we decided, as an organisation, to develop a new approach to online training and began the process of learning the possibilities and transferring our approach to the virtual environment. We have now delivered over 500 live and interactive sessions.

We do not deliver webinars, but rather fully interactive methods which maximise the technology and use a range of audio and visual aids as well as continuing to deliver the latest evidence-based content across all our programmes. We have developed sessions that appeal to the range of learning styles and preferences of our delegate groups, and which focuses on engagement from the initial log-in through to the end of the session and our online evaluation processes.

Each of our sessions include a range of activities, content, and methods tailored to increase engagement. From session jukeboxes, which consist of music across many Genre’s that reflect the subject being taught, through to real life case discussions and a range of training aids such as video and roleplay simulation, critiques and examples of interventions, report extracts, case study-based activities, quizzes and other interactive exercises designed to embed the key learning of each session.

Our approach to training delivery is based on creating a new learning environment rather than ‘making do’ until face-to-face sessions can be recommenced. We believe that our live sessions deliver a range of benefits to both delegates and the commissioning authority, which is evidenced in our feedback (including avoiding traffic and parking issues, significant savings in areas such as venue, time, and travel costs) which will ultimately benefit society, by delivering a greener, low-carbon solution, whilst still achieving the required learning objectives.

Our approach has been positively received across the board with 94% of our delegates from January - December 2021 scoring us 8,9 or 10 out of 10 for the pace and interactivity of our courses! Our Evaluations demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach with all delegates giving themselves an average improvement in knowledge, skills and confidence of 2 points from before to after the courses. In fact, we are so confident in our approach that we continue to offer customers the same money-back or replacement course guarantee that we operated across our face-to-face training and CPD services.
